GOSH! London, executive sponsors of the UK Web & Mini Comix Thing 2004, and sellers of great comics.

Computer Workshop

The computer workshop is designed to introduce those lacking the skills to publish web comix, people who may already be veteran mini comix creators as well as complete beginners.

Visitors will be able to learn about the basics such as how to sign up for free web space, how to use FTP to upload files, how to write simple HTML and use basic HTML editors. They will be introduced to scanners and graphics applications and learn about file resolutions, dots per inch, grayscale, colour and line work as well as many other skills. They'll get to take away hand outs and CD's with vital tools (subject to availability)

THE SYLLABUS
* Draw your comic
*Learn how to scan it
* Learn about different file types TIF, GIF & JPG
* Learn about graphic packages & preparing images
* Learn about ISP's and hosting, including how to get your own
* Learn about HTML & web site design
* Learn about FTP & uploading files
* Learn how to promote your site
* Learn about all the interesting stuff, Paypal, message boards and guest books etc.
* Or take the easy way out and have someone post your one shot first time comix for you

Obviously we cant do all of the above in a short session, but come along, we'll get a feel for what people want from the above and send you away much wiser!!!

This event is entirely dependent on some one volunteering to carry out the role, so if you feel you could teach people how to publish comix on the internet, e-mail us here at computerworkshop@ukwebcomixthing.co.uk
